Why it matters
The first minutes after a crash decide the outcome
Boda boda riders carry passengers and goods on Kenya’s busiest and roughest roads. They face high risk every day, and when an accident happens they are usually the first people on the scene, long before an ambulance can arrive in rural areas like Kinangop.
We give riders and community members the knowledge and confidence to act: to keep a casualty breathing, stop bleeding and get them safely to help. Knowledge is power, and in an emergency it saves lives.

What trainees learn
Practical, hands-on skills
CPR & choking
Chest compressions and rescue breaths for adults, children and infants, practised on training manikins.
Bleeding & wounds
Safe glove use, controlling bleeding and dressing wounds with the kit provided. [confirm]
Snakebite first aid
What to do, and what not to do, in the minutes after a snakebite in rural areas.
Disaster preparedness
Staying safe at an accident scene, calling for help and managing several casualties.
How a training works
From sign-up to first aid kit
Mobilise
We work with rider groups and community leaders to invite trainees.
Learn
Short, clear sessions in simple language, with demonstrations.
Practise
Every trainee practises hands-on on manikins until they are confident.
Equip

More than a decade of first aid training
First aid included in Global Leadership Training with World Impact Network and First Aid Missions of Hope. 73 CBO leaders trained.
Basic First Aid Training with American Red Cross volunteers and First Aid Missions of Hope. 435 leaders trained in Makueni and Nyandarua.
Boda boda riders and community members trained in Kinangop and equipped with first aid kits.
