Who we are

A local NGO with national reach

Merciful International Guild (MIG) is a local non-governmental, non-profit organization registered under section 10 of Kenya’s NGO Act 1990 on 18 December 2003. We source resources to rehabilitate, train and develop youth, women and children, and to provide homes for neglected people, both old and young, in Kenya, the COMESA region and other approved countries in need.

MIG is led by a Board of Directors, which provides leadership, and staff who carry out our programs and projects.

Our mission

Community development that lasts

Our mission is community development: to alleviate poverty and promote health, education, water and sanitation, and sound living standards for youth, women, orphans and neglected elderly people. We do this through micro-enterprises, community facilities, affordable homes for orphans, street children, neglected elderly people and disaster victims, and by taking part in disaster rescue and evacuation and supporting victims.

Our objectives

• Rehabilitation, training and development of neglected children, street children, youth, women, older people, orphans and those living in poverty in urban and rural areas.
• Community-based services: water, sanitation, health, education, schools, clinics, safe play areas and community meeting places.
• Grassroots economic empowerment through micro-credit and income-generating enterprises.

Who we serve

Neglected and street children, youth, women, neglected elderly people, orphans, victims of child abuse, disaster victims and those living below the poverty line, in both urban and rural areas.
